Fifteen years of music, fifteen years of passion: The Jacobs University Choir J-Cappella will celebrate over a decade of collaboration at its next spring concert. Guests can look forward to a lively show with singers from all over the world. The concert, with the theme “Happy Together,” will take place May 8th 2022 on the university campus, and the excitement is high.

Rucsandra Popescu, expert in composition, conduction, and musical pedagogy, has been directing the choir since 2008 and has been preparing the young singers for the traditional spring concert this coming May. She underlies that the strength of the choir lies in its diversity and the blending of different singing styles, pronunciations, and cultures. “The unique facets of each individual singer contribute to the final musical performance” she mentioned.

J-Cappella - the official choir of Jacobs University Bremen- is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. With its 25 extraordinarily passionate and diverse singers from a dozen nations, it creates a colorful and heartwarming choir experience for everyone with a love for music.

The Spring Concert, “Happy Together,” will feature a colorful repertoire: from classic to pop, over jazz and film music, to even rock, J-Cappella covers it all, with great devotion in multiple languages and different styles, sung as solos, ensemble, or whole-choir performances. The performances will take place in the time-honored and symbolic location on the university campus: the Interfaith House- a place where all spiritualties and belief systems can be observed.
